In the Middle-East, Australia, South Africa, and Europe, the PS3 is shipping out today. Originally, it was annouced that like the Xbox 360, North America, Australia, Asia and Europe would see the Playstation 3 released simultaniously (at the SCE’s 2006 PlayStation Business Briefing) however Sony revised its decision and aimed at one market at a time.
In this case, it was the US and Japan, both released in November last year.
Finally, the rest of the world can enjoy Sony’s version of a seventh-gen console and appreciate the power it offers - twice as powerful as the Xbox 360, fifteen times as powerful as the Nintendo Wii and thirty-five times as powerful as its predecessor, the Playstation 2.
For more information about the PS3, we’ve posted a review on StealthyTech here. The PS3 will make its first appearance in these countries at midnight tonight.
