At least once a week StealthyTech is going to bring you one monstrous dream machine that you’ll probably end up drooling over (literally). This is the first of many to come, so be on the look out for 1-2 every week.
So as you can tell by the image, the rig of this week is really packin’ heat. We gurantee tons of ram, video memory, ultra fast computing to really put those 3 19″ monitors to work. What’s really odd about this rig is that it’s technically a business machine, but will easily run any super heavy resource hog of a game effortlessly and flawlessly. The Taurus ST5 comes jam packed full of ultra performance. It’s technically an “Office” PC, but classified so due to the Quad-Screen support. You heard it, 4 screens! It comes equipped with 3 (count ‘em, three) 19″ TFT’s 8MS DVI & VGA. These our easily powered by an ATI Radeon 1024MB PCI Express Quad Monitor Graphics card. That’s one gig of ultra fast video memory, with outputs for four monitors.
So that’s how it looks, here’s how it preforms. At the heart of the machine is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual Core Processor. With dual core technology (pretty much the standard of today) running at 2.40 GHz with a whopping 4MB L2 Cache, and of course all with 64 bit technology. Maybe we could get OC Team Italy to overclock this baby to over 8GHz (Or 40…)
Now, one thing that I thought was a little over the top, was the amount of ram they packed in here. 4GB.. 4 freakin’ gigabytes! Now I’ve heard that once you hit about 1.5-2 gigs, you’re really going over the top, and it’s becoming pointless. But I wouldn’t doubt that a PC with this much multitasking-tasking potential won’t use it all. With four monitors you could have PhotoShop running on one screen, a tutorial video for a PhotoShop technique on the next. Your online place of work (mine being this blog) writing up a post, and on the last screen possibly your Gmail opened up, or maybe your favorite web comic (we all know you guys would navigate to us though ;)). The 4x Corsair 1024MB DDR667 really equips this machine for multi-tasking efficiency at 667 MHz and a 5ms latency.
They also don’t jip you on the storage, either. They pack 3× Seagate 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
- Capacity: 320GB
- Speed: 7200 rpm
- Interface: Serial ATA
- Cache: 16MB
I personally would have went for a slightly less amount of space, which is sacrificed for a much higher RPM rating.
Everything is tied together on an Intel Core 2 Duo Deluxe Motherboard, obviously fully compatible with the processor. Once again, I would have preferred an ASUS A8N-SLI Delux, which is relatively cheap, but a much higher performing board, and will allow you to double up on the graphics cards with SLI madness.
The Taurus ST5 comes with all the standard accessories:
- Sony Floppy Drive
- 8 Channel Sound (7.1 Surround Sound)
- 12x USB2 Ports
- Firewire
- 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Adapter
- Midi Tower Case
- Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard
- Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse
- Creative Inspire 5800 5.1 Speaker System
Here’s a live action look at this beast, submitted by a friend, Al, over at Coolest-Gadgets.
You can pick yours up today for £1649.00, or approximately (brace yourselves) $3,268.65 USD at a UK store Cube 247. Stay tuned for next weeks rig! (Subscribe to the RSS feed at your right to do so).

[…] I’ve seen a very nice system on Stealthy Tech. Now, I’m about against Windows, because of the bugs and security issues. I know, you can install Firewall, Virusscanner, Additional security software, Spyware removal and all the stuff. Then your PC becomes a bit safe. Now we can use an UNIX based system. Mac OS X? Not if you buy the above stated PC. Then use Linux, free and easy to use. […]
The “rig” is pretty nice, the leap from 2 screens to 3 is not as big as that from 1 to 2 but I wouldn’t go back :).
The comment form needs a bit of work, in FF the captions are below the fields which is bloody confusing.
This theme is temporary, so anything here will also be temporary. No one seems to be submitting things of HM, and I’m currently dead short of cash to go buy a professional one.. So another 2 weeks or so and ST will have what it needs.
