The iMac…
Posted By: Alex

iMacNot exactly the latest news, but the 24-inch iMac is the latest from Apple - a powerful computer that has demanded customer satisfaction for almost six months.

The monitor, a massive 24-inch liquid crystal display, is professional and stylish, complimenting the standard of 2 gigabytes of memory installed, with a 500 gigabyte hard-disk drive, and a burner to read and write CDs and DvDs. Unlike Microsoft conventionals, This computer will run any of at least three operating systems, and with the Leopard OS X coming out soon, it’ll run it more smoothly than other Macs.

And sitting on your desk at home, that 24-inch crystal display is going to look very impressive…

The 24-inch computer starts at $1,999 retail, although some of the more useful additions will add their own cost to that number, making it very expensive… but as they say, you do pay for quality.
And the quality? A sleek, and powerful computer, which does just about everything you’d want from a powerful system - Mac style, with speed.
There have been large-screen Macs before, so what elements make this model the perfect decision? The Intel central processing units, after all, have long run Microsoft’s Windows operating system, and Linux.
Microsoft could never truthfully boast that they run the OS X systems - and that means they can’t run run those systems in place of the Mac OS, or flip between Windows and Mac OS X, like the iMac can

And getting back to the screen - the bigger the screen, the easier it is to see, the more stimulation, and the more powerful it seems, having a screen that offers plenty of room for displaying and working with photos, videos and multimedia - Flash or MediaPlayer, or simply emails and text - is definately a positive aspect of the iMac.

The multimedia capacity that Apple always has had is an advantage of this model, and there’s the greater capacity this computer has for both RAM and hard-discstorage. You can install up to 3 gigabytes of RAM on this machine; the 2 gigabytes installed in this unit make for much faster work and Web browsing already, but if you prefer more space… A 500 gigabyte hard drive is already out-ob-the box, and you can go up to 750 gigabytes. That’s a lot of storage for most of us, even those more prone to uncompressed video - and we all know how much space that eats up.

iMacCertainly, Apple aims at the higher end at the market with an expensive computer - but you get the whole package, at $1999 without additions. But if you want something that’ll look good and workgreat for you for years on end - consider the iMac. Nothing’ll come close to its performance, speed and space - at least, not in 2007 anyway.

And sure, if you don’t need size, you can always stick with a 20 or 17inch moniter.
