I’ve always had a dream of having my gaming rig (around 3 grand total, 8800GTX, E6600 @ 4GHz, Striker Extreme, Custom Water cooling) completely immersed in a massive tank filled with distilled water. Imagine the cooling effects and awesome factor! But we come to learn that no board is perfect and distilled water can never be completely pure, thus the 12v limit will be broken.
However! Mineral Oil is completely non-conductive as far as we know, and the project 1337 Fleet has proven that you can indeed have a Aquarium PC! How ’bout them apples? (If you’re not okay with raiding every Walgreen’s and K*Mart within the tri-state area, then this may not be the project for you…) (Click More… for video and more pics)
All they needed was a little imagination, an a bit of free time (well, 5 gallons of mineral oil, lots of gasoline, and tons of cell phone minutes were also used…) and they managed to accomplish the undeniably coolest PC Case ever!

I would of course made a few tweaks however. I would have added a high powered water pump and a large radiator, preferably a 4x 120mm Fanned radiator, allowing the oil to be cooled as the PC ran, allowing for ULTIMATE water cooling! But nonetheless, we loved seeing this mod and gave many props to the creators heading the 1337 Fleet project! Here’s the video:
