So far the only uses for the Cell Chip technology has been for research, and the PS3. However, at CES 08. Toshiba demoed the laptop on a modified Qosmio G45 laptop with a standard Intel Core 2 Duo, in addition to the cell chip with four 1.5GHz synergistic processing elements (SPE). They had four demos running, all were multi-tasking beasts. One was scanning movie files and using face recognition to detect all the faces within the movie file. It then created a thumbnails of each of them. You could then click on the faces, and watch all the clips that included that face.
We’re barely getting the 45nm Quad Core generation into full swing and they’re already using the cellchip in consumer computers.

SanDisk’s latest MicroSDHC card has a 12GB capacity. If you’ve ever held one of these cards, you’ll appreciate the true beauty of this article. If you haven’t, we’re talking small. MicroSD is a very small form factor, about the size of a small pinky nail. (The actual memory bank on the whole chip takes up about half the space.)
Currently you can buy the 8GB MicroSDHC cards for around $130. That’s about $16 per gig, and factor in the +$2 per gig on the next model up, we’re talking about $18 per gig on the 12GB model, totaling $216.00 USD is our guess at the price (SanDisk hasn’t released pricing info yet).

I’ve received a few messages from new bloggers or website owners asking about the tax system when it comes to filing with your Google Adsense earnings. Especially now with Tax Season on the horizon. The biggest question most people bring up first is, ‘Do I have to report my Google earnings when filing my taxes?” Very simply put, yes. However, the deductions involved, and the taxes owed to the government varies depending on the user.
In this little informative guide I will give you all the run-down on how taxes are managed with Google Adsense, and other revenue services on the web. I will touch on subjects such as what is taxable, how to determine how you should go about filing, and much more useful information including how to get your cell phone paid for, get some gas money, and get any other expenses like computer purchases covered by the government!

SeeingYellow has been around for a little while now, advertising the supposed ‘truth’ about today’s colored printers. According to them, all of our modern printers print out code in the form of small, invisible yellow dots onto our documents and photos. They, SeeingYellow, claims that it’s simply because the government needs to track our use for them. If we’re printing money, the fed and Secret Service will be able to tell where we are, and when we printed it.
“When one person asked his printer manufacturer about turning off the tracking dots, Secret Service agents showed up at his door several days later.” Okay, you have to admit, you’re laughing at this point, right?

The plaintiff Ranjit Bedi, a Boston man, claims that Staples and HP are in a secret business together to jack up printer ink cartridge prices. Allegedly, HP has paid Staples $100 MILLION just to sell HP exclusive ink! We all know prices are already through the roof no matter where you go. After all, that’s where companies like HP really make their money. You really think a $50 color cartridge is only a %40 mark up from manufacturing costs? Please! These figures make a gallon of gas look dirt cheap.
Believe it or not, the ink industry has always been a very vicious place to be. Big companies like HP, Lenovo, and Epson have all been caught trying to pass crazy patents and things of the like just to rid their lives of these pesky third party retailers. They’ve also gone as far as implementing a chip within their cartridges that interacts with the printer, disallowing third party cartridges to work in the printer. With all that being done, do you still think companies need to charge so much for a bit of ink? It’s also no surprising to hear that many “level indicators” are a false psotive, reporting a low cartridge when really there is at least half left!

Putting Verizon FiOS’ 50Mbps Up / 30Mbps Down to shame is Comcast’s announcement to implement it’s new DOCSIS 3.0 infrustructure in 2008, with 20% system-wide availability by the end of 2008.
It will theoreticly max out at 160Mbps down speed, which is a whopping 20MB/s. That would enable a computer that has a good enough performance level to handle lots of connections from a P2P client to download a full length movie in just a few minutes. It will also mean an Up speed of about 120Mbps or 15MB/s. (If you’re confused about the units, Mbps is Megabits per second, while MBps is megabytes per second. one MB is larger then one M. Bits are commonly used in internet talk because companies like it since it looks like you’re getting much more for what you pay for. Google’s built in unit converter will translate them if you need it. Your query would look like this: 160Mbps to MB (which would be 20.))
What’s surprising however is the sudden announcement to release this new infrastructure and make it so widely available by the end of ‘08. At that rate we would expect full integration by 2010.

I’ve always had a dream of having my gaming rig (around 3 grand total, 8800GTX, E6600 @ 4GHz, Striker Extreme, Custom Water cooling) completely immersed in a massive tank filled with distilled water. Imagine the cooling effects and awesome factor! But we come to learn that no board is perfect and distilled water can never be completely pure, thus the 12v limit will be broken.
However! Mineral Oil is completely non-conductive as far as we know, and the project 1337 Fleet has proven that you can indeed have a Aquarium PC! How ’bout them apples? (If you’re not okay with raiding every Walgreen’s and K*Mart within the tri-state area, then this may not be the project for you…) (Click More… for video and more pics)
