The classic “Darwin Awards” comes to mind when looking at this picture.

how-not-to-use-electricity

If you can’t see what’s happening, these lovely bunch of braniacs are using their electric griddle in the middle of a pool. How do they plug it in? A surge protector floating on two flip-flops. We rate you guys 5 out of 5 lightning bolts to the face.

iPhoneThere is so much hype and buzz going around about the new iPhone launch in a day, but now that it gets ever closer, amny die hards are getting a bit of a case of cold feet. Worries over the high cost, slow network speed, and battery life are deterring some customers from forking over a minimum of $499.

The fact that the iPhone will run on AT&Ts slower network has many gadgeteers baffled. And at the same time, many iPhone die hards holding back on purchasing until an updated version hit’s AT&Ts shelves. Along with the slow network connection, AT&T also requires a 2 year contract in order to even touch the iPhone. Which says to any consumer “We’re evil, we’ll make you buy or service, and never let you go.” Especially in a case like this, a hyped up drooled over iPhone, many consumers are being turned off due to low morale with the company. And moreover, Apple giving an exclusive deal to just AT&T, which really hurts not only the sale of the iPhone, but the actual versatility of the device. In addition, they’ll be charging you a whopping 500-600 bucks, even with the 2-year plan. I can guarantee you, prices won’t drop very soon if AT&T stays exclusive, because you know they are paying money out their behinds for that deal with Apple.

There are other worries too, such as the battery life of the device not being able to hold up to being listened to all day, and being able to handle sporadic conversations and texting. When you mix a personal organizer, a multi-media player, a phone, and a web browser all in one, and only power it with a mediocre mAh rated battery, things won’t last very long.

GoogleGoogle Inc (GOOG) has recently started to get involved with governmental affairs, such as the threat to ending GMail in germany due to new privacy laws. Recently, Google took it upon themselves to get in contact with US Trade Officials and ask them to start treating the internet as more of a international trade system, which would stop all the internet censorship laws and oput a damper on all the fuss over such happenings.

Google is worried about it’s advertising driven business model being curbed by all the censorship that is taking place all over the world, mainly in Asia and the Middle East. Google wants governments to consider the issue in not so much of a political view, but an economic one as it would seem probable that the more censorship we have, the less business activity is flowing on the internet.

Stealthytech.com has recently been a victim of server hard drive failure. What’s bad about that? Well, about a years worth of posts have vanished. But now you’re saying, Alex, why don’t you back up such a big website? Well, the answer is simple. At that exact same time of the hard drive failure on our server, there was a surge which blew out the off location computer that although was surge protected, still suffered major damage. The backups were lost up until one from months ago that was luckily stored in an e-mail attachment. So we do feel lucky that our web template and WordPress settings and all that jazz were not lost as that would set us back a few more months.

Our tech team and myself are working very hard on trying to recover more data, but it’s looking like this is all that we can muster up. Thanks for your support, and I’m dearly sorry to any of our fans. Afterall, we know there are lots of dissapointed faces out there.

We’re trying hard to fix it, which may also affect updates on the blog, so just hang in there and we’ll all get through this together!

    -Alex

Edit: Okay, so a bit of an update. Everything you see now is all we were able to recover. As it turns out, when I thought we didn’t lose our custom theme stuff, we actually did as what I was seeing was just a cache and it somehow survived the whole night until I flushed it, which somehow also got rid of every single image in every single post. (Imagine my face once I did!) Things are starting to get back to the way they were however and we’re still working around the clock to get us back in full swing! So thanks for stickin’ with us ;)

That’s correct! Well, kind of. Actually, our theme is changing. We’re currently going through a slow transition to our own custom theme, which will span over the next few days. I would really appreciate feedback, considering the fact that I’m color blind, and am basing the whole site off of 6 digit color hex codes! (They laugh at me :( )

If you think you can replace our main header image with some of your own art, post a comment and tell me about it.

We only expect the site to be semi-private for just a little bit longer before we start our link building and advertising and such. Once we start that we’ll get into a regular system of writing and posting about our favorite things! (Technology of course ;))

    Enjoy,

    -Alex

I’ve added and installed a new theme called Liquid Summer which was coded by Design Studio. It’s obviously not a custom; you may have even seen it before. I’m going to adapt it to ST’s needs for now, while our own (Yes, our very own) is in the creation process.

I suppose this will do for now, but do not fret, it won’t be here for long. Once the custom is complete with in 2 weeks (around the time we start building links and traffic) we’ll throw this beast away.

Unfortunately I’m dead blind when it comes to color, so if this thing is actually morbidly ugly, PLEASE let me know ;).

    Ever working,

    -Alex

Somehow you’ve managed to navigate yourself to the bare hiney of StealthyTech itself. In other words, we’re only days old. Within the next few days we’ll be transforming into a high traffic loved-by-all blog/website.

A brief of what we’re about: Well, quite obviously, technology! Be specific you say? Well then, fine. StealthyTech is based on a passion to provide any random viewer in the world with some new information on computer hardware, software , Internet usage and fun other geeky things.. You know, the good stuff in life.

Right now we’re in development.. Kind of like getting ready in a dressing room before a big concert. So ah! Get out! We’re naked! Psh, fine, you can stay, but please no flash photography. More seriously, we’ll be online within a few days to a few weeks, depending on how easily things get sorted out. If you would like to be notified of the grand opening, post a reply to this post, and I’ll personally e-mail you the details.

Interested in writing for us? Interested in designing a theme for us? You’ll be paid, no doubt about that (for both, silly). Contact me specially at admin@StealthyTech.com. Until then, have a wonderful time away from us!
